Privacy, in plain language
The short version
TypeDrive is made for kids, so we collect as little as possible, we never sell or share anything, and parents stay in charge.
What we store today
Right now, everything — your player name, avatar, lesson progress, game scores, and which keys you miss most — is stored on your own device in your browser. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data erases it.
What we'll store when family accounts arrive
When parent-owned accounts launch, we will store: a parent's contact (email or phone, used only for consent and account control), the child's chosen player name (first names or made-up handles only — we never ask for full names), and the same progress data listed above. Accounts are owned by the parent or guardian, and creating one requires verifiable parental consent: we send the parent a notice, they approve, and we confirm with a follow-up message before the account turns on.
What we never do
No advertising. No third-party analytics or tracking of any kind. No selling, renting, or sharing data with anyone. No data about you or your child ever leaves our own servers — this is a hard rule built into how the site is engineered, not a policy we might change.
Parents' rights
Parents can see everything their child's profile contains on the progress page, and can ask us to correct or delete it at any time. When accounts launch, deleting your account removes all of it, permanently.
